The S&P/TSX Venture Composite fell 3.87% last week. The CSE Composite slid 7.2%. Drill rigs didn’t notice: one hole in northern British Columbia returned a single metre at 794 grams of gold per tonne, and a lithium explorer worth under C$19 million topped the weekly gainers list.
Cambria Gold Mines Hits 794 g/t Gold Over 1 Metre at Silver Coin, BC
Cambria Gold Mines Inc. (TSXV: CAMB; OTCQX: CAMVF) reported on October 18 that hole SC26-2714 at its Silver Coin deposit cut 98.56 g/t gold over 8.2 metres, including 794.00 g/t over 1.0 metre. That one metre works out to more than 25 troy ounces of gold per tonne.
The same hole returned 4.61 g/t over 16.0 metres further down. Hole SC26-2710 added 22.62 g/t over 4.4 metres and 3.75 g/t over 20.0 metres. Estimated true widths run 68% to 97% of the reported core lengths.
This is infill drilling, tighter-spaced holes inside a known deposit, here feeding an updated resource estimate and feasibility study targeted for the first half of 2027. Silver Coin sits 5 kilometers from the Premier Mill, and its northern end was mined underground in the 1990s. Cambria wants it as early mill feed and is targeting underground development there in spring 2027. Results from more than 14,000 meters of Silver Coin drilling are still to come.
Also in the release: a paid investor-awareness deal with Native Ads Inc., worth up to US$250,000 over 12 months and still subject to TSX-V approval.
Tectonic Metals Hits 59.44 Metres of 2.41 g/t Gold at Chicken Mountain
Tectonic Metals Inc. (TSXV: TECT; OTCQX: TETOF) reported on October 15 that hole CMR26-170 at Alpha Bowl returned 2.41 g/t gold over 59.44 metres, including 11.82 g/t over 10.67 metres, inside a broader 80.77-metre interval at 1.86 g/t that starts at surface. The hole ended in gold.
At the Adit Zone, CMR26-163 returned 1.52 g/t over 42.67 metres and finished with 3.84 g/t over its last 13.72 metres.
Eighteen of the 19 holes were reverse-circulation (RC) holes, which bring up rock chips instead of solid core. True widths are unknown. Chicken Mountain has no resource estimate yet. Tectonic is targeting a maiden estimate in Q1 2027 and a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) in Q2 2027, with 114 holes, about 22,000 meters, still waiting on assays.
Key members of the founding team came out of Kaminak Gold, whose Coffee project Goldcorp acquired for $520 million in 2016.
Lithium Africa Returns 2.59% Li2O Over 4 Metres at Norrabees I
Lithium Africa Corp. (TSXV: LAF; OTCQB: LTAFF) reported complete assays on October 15 from hole NB1DD26-004 at Norrabees I, on its Springbok Project in South Africa’s Northern Cape: 8.0 metres at 1.70% Li2O from 21.0 metres downhole, including 4.0 metres at 2.59%. Investing News Network ranked it the top-performing Canadian mining stock for the week ending October 16, listing its market cap at C$18.74 million.
All four holes reported so far at Norrabees I hit spodumene, the main lithium-bearing mineral in hard-rock deposits. Three of them returned high grades starting within 21 metres downhole.
Part of this hole was re-assayed after a certified reference sample in the original lab batch failed the company’s acceptance limits. The re-check came back 18% to 21% higher. True widths are not yet known.
The company is targeting spodumene concentrate output in the second half of 2027. It also states it has not completed a resource estimate or any economic study, and has not made a production decision. Mining at Norrabees I is already permitted. The planned processing plant still needs further approvals.
