Prospectiva Resources Reports First Assays From São Francisco Copper Program

Yamana Gold completed a 29 line-kilometer induced polarization survey in Pernambuco State and never followed it up with drilling, according to Prospectiva Resources. Yamana was acquired in 2023. On October 20, the company that now owns that ground reported 3.60 meters grading 9.17% copper from its first round of holes.

Prospectiva Hits 9.17% Copper in First São Francisco Drill Holes

Prospectiva Resources Ltd. (TSXV: PSVA) released initial assays on October 20 from the first three diamond drill holes of its maiden program at the São Francisco copper-gold project in northeastern Brazil, which it owns 100%. Hole SF_26_003 returned 7.15 meters at 4.78% copper, 0.19 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 0.65% zinc. Inside that sits 3.60 meters at 9.17% copper. Inside that, a 0.75-meter interval ran 15.9% copper.

The other two holes were narrower. SF_26_002 cut 2.50 meters at 3.24% copper, including 1.50 meters at 5.05%, while SF_26_001 returned 4.00 meters at 1.93% copper, including 1.10 meters at 6.03%.

All three hit at shallow depth, between roughly 60 and 95 meters.

Every interval is a downhole length. True widths, meaning the actual thickness of the mineralized zone measured across its orientation, have not been established, the company disclosed. Intervals were calculated on contiguous samples above a 0.20% copper cut-off with no internal dilution. Prospectiva places the holes about 600 meters east of the surface outcrop where copper was first found, along what it interprets as the down-plunge trend of the same system.

São Francisco Drilling Tests an East-Plunging VMS Model

Prospectiva now reads São Francisco as a deformed, metamorphosed volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) system, a deposit type formed where metal-rich fluids vented onto an ancient seafloor. That interpretation is the company’s own. In its August 28 drill-start release, Prospectiva wrote that a fixed-loop electromagnetic (FLEM) survey, which maps buried conductive bodies such as sulfide lenses, stretched the interpreted target corridor from about 2 kilometers to roughly 3 kilometers.

The sulfides are massive to semi-massive pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite. Chalcopyrite is the copper carrier. The company describes a gentle eastward plunge of about 5 to 15 degrees, with mineralized horizons likely thickened in fold hinges, and says the three holes hit sulfides at depths broadly consistent with that model. The same release concedes that more drilling is needed before continuity can be established for resource definition.

CEO Dan James told investors that VMS deposits typically occur in clusters, which he said raises the potential for more zones in the same setting. No second zone has been drilled.

Prospectiva Reached the TSXV Through a Capital Pool Company Deal

Prospectiva has been public for under ten weeks. Its shares began trading on August 14, 2026, after a qualifying transaction with Pentagon I Capital Corp., a capital pool company. That is a TSXV-listed shell created to acquire a private business and bring it to market. Under the deal terms announced August 11, Pentagon acquired the privately held UK parent, and its shareholders received one resulting-issuer share for each share they held.

The listing came with C$3,681,483 in gross proceeds from subscription receipts priced at C$0.81. Each receipt converted into one share plus one warrant exercisable at C$1.13 for 24 months. Paradigm Capital, which led the brokered portion, received a C$164,197.54 cash commission and 202,713 broker warrants exercisable at C$0.81.

After closing, the company reported 25,936,350 shares outstanding. Sitting over that count were 4,745,256 warrants, 253,799 compensation warrants and 1,098,765 stock options, any of which would dilute existing holders if exercised.

Two founders control a large block. Executive Chairman Jeremy Martin and James each held about 20.94% of the shares at closing, calculated on a partially diluted basis. A total of 10,583,185 principal shares sit in escrow, released in stages over 36 months.

Stated use of proceeds was exploration and property payments on the Borborema Project, with the balance for general corporate purposes. Prospectiva calls the current drill program fully funded. No current cash balance or runway was identified in the sources reviewed for this article.

Prospectiva Has No Resource Estimate and No True Widths Yet

There is no mineral resource estimate at São Francisco under NI 43-101, the Canadian disclosure standard for mineral projects. Prospectiva is targeting a potential initial resource in 2027. That is a company goal, not a scheduled filing.

Much of the project’s drilling history belongs to someone else. Yamana discovered São Francisco in 2019 and completed approximately 5,900 meters of diamond drilling, according to Prospectiva’s listing release, and the best historical intersection the company cites is 7.50 meters at 6.41% copper and 0.36 g/t gold. Those figures come from historical work reported by Prospectiva, not from its own program.

Robert Selwyn, the Qualified Person who approved the technical disclosure, is Prospectiva’s chief geologist and a non-independent consultant to the company. Under NI 43-101, the Qualified Person is the professional responsible for signing off on scientific and technical content.

Three holes is a small sample.

Prospectiva Targets Mid-Q4 2026 for 10-Hole São Francisco Program

As of October 20, Prospectiva had completed six holes, with assays back for three and two more holes in progress. Hole SF_26_004 was stopped at about 40 meters for excessive deviation after reaching the target horizon and was redrilled as SF_26_004b. Two rigs are on site. The 2,500-meter, 10-hole program is expected to finish in mid-Q4 2026, and the company has said results will be released as assays are received; it has not given dates for individual batches.

Yamana Gold is referenced only as the historical operator of the project and is no longer an independently listed company.

The São Francisco results are exploration-stage. No NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimate exists for the project, and the potential initial resource in 2027 is a company-stated target, not a guarantee. All reported intervals are downhole lengths; true widths have not been established. Assays have been received for only three holes of a planned 10-hole program. Historical drilling results attributed to Yamana Gold are reported by Prospectiva and were not generated under the company’s current program.

The Qualified Person who reviewed and approved the technical information, Robert Selwyn, is Prospectiva’s chief geologist and a non-independent consultant to the company. The VMS-style interpretation, the east-plunging structural model and the suggestion that additional zones may exist are the company’s own geological interpretations.

Prospectiva became a listed company on August 14, 2026, through a qualifying transaction with Pentagon I Capital Corp., a capital pool company. Prospectiva UK shareholders received one resulting-issuer share per share held. At closing, Jeremy Martin and Daniel James each controlled approximately 20.94% of the shares on a partially diluted basis, and 10,583,185 principal shares are subject to staged escrow release over 36 months. The company has no disclosed revenue.

The listing financing raised gross proceeds of C$3,681,483 through 4,545,041 subscription receipts at C$0.81, each converting into one share and one warrant exercisable at C$1.13 for 24 months. As reported at closing, 25,936,350 shares were outstanding alongside 4,745,256 warrants, 253,799 compensation warrants and 1,098,765 stock options; exercise of any of these would dilute existing shareholders. The company describes its drill program as fully funded, but no specific cash balance or runway was identified in the sources reviewed.
