Gorilla Technology Revenue Surge, BeWhere Record Profit

Gorilla Technology just reported the kind of revenue growth most companies only dream about, and the stock dropped anyway. A much smaller asset-tracking company reported the opposite problem: revenue that actually fell, alongside its most profitable quarter on record. Both companies spent the same week proving that a single headline number rarely tells the whole story.

Gorilla Technology Doubles H1 Revenue to $78.4 Million, Raises Full-Year Outlook

Gorilla Technology Group Inc. (Nasdaq: GRRR) reported unaudited results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, with revenue up 99.3% year over year to approximately $78.4 million, driven by earlier-than-expected delivery on contracted AI infrastructure, data-center, and smart-city programs. Second-quarter revenue alone reached $50.1 million, up 78% sequentially and 138% year over year. The company raised its full-year 2026 revenue outlook to at least $200 million, up from a prior $160 million to $200 million range.

The growth came with a much larger loss. Gorilla reported an IFRS operating loss of approximately $47.2 million for the first half of 2026, compared with $9.1 million a year earlier, including roughly $25.4 million in stock-based compensation and smaller downward fair-value and debt-transaction charges. Adjusted EBITDA swung to a loss of about $14.6 million from a $6.2 million profit in the year-ago period, and net loss widened to $46.9 million from $8.5 million. Cash on hand climbed to $179.4 million, driven mainly by financing activity rather than operations. GRRR shares fell more than 10% following the release, reflecting investor focus on the widening losses and heavy non-cash charges alongside the revenue growth. Gorilla trades at a market capitalization of roughly $440 million.

BeWhere Holdings Posts Record Profitability as Revenue Declines 9%

BeWhere Holdings Inc. (TSXV: BEW) (OTCQB: BEWFF) reported second-quarter 2026 results with total revenue of approximately $5.0 million, down 9% from $5.5 million a year earlier, alongside record Gross Profit, EBITDA, and Adjusted EBITDA. EBITDA rose 208% year over year to $844,566, and Adjusted EBITDA rose 56% to $966,762, a 19.3% margin. Total comprehensive net income was $652,241, the second-highest quarterly result in company history, compared with a net loss of $131,781 a year earlier.

The improvement came from a shift toward higher-margin recurring revenue rather than from growth in total sales: annual recurring revenue rose 46% year over year to just over $12 million, and recurring revenue itself rose 27% to $2.55 million, even as overall revenue declined. BeWhere ended the quarter with cash of $9.1 million and working capital of $13.0 million, up 78% year over year, aided by a completed equity offering under the Listed Issuer Financing Exemption and the completed acquisition of SecureQuip; the company did not disclose specific financial terms for either transaction. BeWhere is a low-power 5G IoT tracking and remote-monitoring provider serving transportation, construction, logistics, utilities, and government customers, and carries a market capitalization of roughly C$76 million.

GRRR, BEW: Forward-Looking FAQ

Does Gorilla’s raised full-year guidance account for the stock-based compensation and other non-cash charges that drove its H1 loss?

The $200 million-plus revenue outlook is a top-line figure; Gorilla has not disclosed a corresponding profitability or adjusted EBITDA target for the full year, so the guidance does not by itself address whether the loss narrows in the second half.

Can BeWhere’s recurring-revenue shift keep offsetting declining total revenue going forward?

Not guaranteed. The trend held for this quarter, with ARR up 46% and gross profit at a record despite a 9% total revenue decline, but BeWhere has not disclosed specific terms for its recent SecureQuip acquisition or given forward guidance on whether total revenue stabilizes or continues declining.
