Outlook Therapeutics Wins FDA Approval, Plus a Copper Strike and a Crypto Lending Launch

Bevacizumab has quietly treated wet macular degeneration off-label for two decades, cheap and effective but never actually built or labeled for the eye. Outlook Therapeutics spent years and two rejected applications trying to close that gap. The FDA signed off on Friday. In Chile a driller pulled 111.9 meters of 0.97% copper out of ground nobody had tested before, and in Vancouver a crypto exchange started letting its users borrow cash against Bitcoin they never have to sell.

Outlook Therapeutics Wins First FDA Approval for an Eye-Specific Bevacizumab

The FDA approved Outlook Therapeutics’ (Nasdaq: OTLK) LYTENAVA (bevacizumab-vikg) for wet age-related macular degeneration on Friday, the first ophthalmic formulation of bevacizumab cleared for the US market. Doctors have injected the cancer drug Avastin into eyes off-label for years because it costs a fraction of approved alternatives; LYTENAVA is built and labeled specifically for that use, with twelve years of reference product exclusivity attached.

This is Outlook’s second attempt at the same approval. The FDA rejected the original application in December before reversing course on appeal and redirecting the review toward labeling rather than additional trials. The financing risk behind the launch is real: Outlook has no marketed product until now, and third-party analysis rates its balance sheet strength poorly heading into a commercial rollout it has never executed before.

Fitzroy Minerals Drills 111.9 Meters of Copper at Buen Retiro in Chile

Fitzroy Minerals (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQX: FTZFF) hit 111.9 meters grading 0.97% copper starting from just 21.1 meters downhole at its Buen Retiro project in Copiapó, Chile, including a higher grade section of 18.0 meters at 1.59% copper beginning at 84 meters. Three diamond rigs and a reverse circulation rig are turning across a 1.7 kilometer trend of mineralization the company has only begun to test.

A intercept over 100 meters thick starting near surface changes the economics of anything eventually built on top of it. Chile carries its own permitting and jurisdiction timeline for foreign operators, and Buen Retiro remains a pre-resource exploration story; no NI 43-101 estimate has been filed on the project yet.

Tech & Innovation

ALZAI Health Licenses an AI Liver Disease Risk Model From Weizmann’s Tech Transfer Arm

ALZAI Health Corp (TSXV: ALZI) signed an exclusive, worldwide, sublicensable license on July 20 with MOR Research Applications, the technology transfer company for Israel’s Clalit Health Services, and Yeda Research, the technology transfer company for the Weizmann Institute of Science, for an AI model that flags patients at elevated risk of liver disease, including cirrhosis, using data already sitting in routine health records. ALZAI will pay MOR and Yeda royalties on future commercialization and sublicensing revenue.

The deal adds a second product line to a company that completed its TSXV initial public offering just six weeks earlier at $0.40 per unit, selling a different AI risk-screening tool built for Alzheimer’s disease. Neither product has generated revenue yet, and ALZAI now has to build out commercialization and distribution for both before either royalty stream means anything. Running two unproven go-to-market efforts at once, on an IPO that closed barely a month and a half ago, is the more immediate story here than the licensing headline itself.

Generation Uranium Completes Its Move From TSXV to CSE

Generation Uranium (TSXV: GEN, OTCQB: GENRF) received final listing approval from the Canadian Securities Exchange on July 23 and began trading there under the same symbol, GEN, on July 24, delisting from the TSX Venture Exchange the same week. The company’s flagship asset, the Yath project in Nunavut’s Angilak district, sits along trend from Atha Energy’s Lac 50 uranium deposit, which carries a historic resource of 43.3 million pounds of U3O8.

Generation’s own numbers on Yath, including a surface sample as high as 9.8% U3O8, come from historic assessment reports covering exploration work done between 1980 and 2013, not verified by a current qualified person, and the company has not yet drilled the property itself; a 2026 field program was still defining targets as of early July. CSE and TSXV carry different reporting and oversight requirements, worth factoring in given how early-stage this project still is.

Crypto & Fintech

Netcoins Launches In-App Crypto-Backed Lending With APX Lending

BIGG Digital Assets’ Netcoins subsidiary (TSXV: BIGG, OTCQB: BBKCF) went live July 23 with crypto-backed lending built directly into its web app, letting its more than 275,000 registered Canadian users borrow cash against Bitcoin and Ethereum holdings without selling them. Loans start at $10,000 and run up to 60 months, with rates from 9.99%; APX Lending, a separately regulated lender, originates, underwrites, and services every loan, with Netcoins acting purely as the front end.

Netcoins and BIGG carry no direct lending or collateral risk from the product itself, since APX holds every loan on its own book. The revenue opportunity is real but unquantified so far, since the product only went live this week and BIGG has not disclosed expected volume. BIGG has separately been working through a Netcoins membership application with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization, and the company’s balance sheet still carries some overhang from a Canada Revenue Agency reassessment resolved earlier this year.

What to Watch Next

What’s next for Outlook Therapeutics after its FDA approval?

Outlook Therapeutics has flagged a commercial launch of LYTENAVA before the end of 2026. That launch will be the company’s first real test of execution as a commercial-stage business, something it has no track record in yet.

When will Fitzroy Minerals report more drill results?

Fitzroy Minerals still has assays pending from the remainder of its four-rig program at Buen Retiro. Additional intercepts from that program are the next data point to watch.

Will ALZAI Health’s licensing deals generate revenue?

Neither of ALZAI Health’s two licensed AI products, the Alzheimer’s screening tool or the newly licensed liver disease model, has generated revenue yet. The company’s first commercialization update will be the first real signal on whether either is converting to sales.

What’s the status of Generation Uranium’s drill program at Yath?

Generation Uranium has not yet drilled its Yath project. A ranked drill target program and the drill permit it depends on are still pending following the 2026 field season

Will Netcoins’ crypto-lending launch move the needle for BIGG Digital Assets?

Netcoins has not disclosed any lending volume since its July 23 launch with APX Lending. First disclosed numbers will show whether the product is a meaningful revenue line, and CIRO’s decision on Netcoins’ full dealer membership is still outstanding separately.

National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101) is the Canadian regulatory standard governing public disclosure of scientific and technical information on mineral projects. Development-stage and pre-revenue disclosure: ALZAI Health Corp has not generated revenue from either of its two licensed AI risk-screening products and completed its TSXV initial public offering approximately six weeks before this week’s licensing announcement. Generation Uranium is a pre-drill exploration company with no revenue.
