Selkirk Copper Hits 99th-Percentile Grade in Minto North Step-Out

Selkirk Copper Hits 99th-Percentile Grade in Minto North Step-Out

A 1.21-metre piece of core from northwestern British Columbia assayed 30.46% antimony, and it still isn’t the lead. Central Yukon is. Cascadia Minerals and Selkirk Copper, drilling 35 kilometers apart in the Minto Copper Belt, each reported intercepts that rank among the best ever drilled on their properties.

Cascadia Minerals Hits 2.18% CuEq Over 75.55 Metres at Carmacks

Cascadia Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: CAM; OTCQB: CAMNF) reported on October 1 that hole CD-26-058 at its Carmacks project returned 75.55 metres grading 1.19% copper, 0.97 g/t gold, 10.4 g/t silver and 335 ppm molybdenum, or 2.18% copper equivalent (CuEq). The best stretch ran 14.50 metres at 5.08% CuEq. Hole CD-26-059, 82 metres farther north, added 93.99 metres at 1.94% CuEq.

Location matters more than grade here. Both holes sit in the gap between Zone 2000S and Zone 147, ground left out of the 2022 resource estimate because historical drilling suggested Zone 2000S stopped short of it. This year’s drilling has doubled that zone’s known strike length.

None of it is in the resource yet. Carmacks carries a Measured and Indicated resource of 36.3 million tonnes at 0.81% copper and 0.26 g/t gold, and these intercepts sit outside it. True widths run an estimated 60-70% of drilled length. CuEq uses US$4.00/lb copper, US$2,500/oz gold, US$30/oz silver and US$20/lb molybdenum, with recoveries from the 2023 preliminary economic assessment (PEA). Six more holes from this area are pending, and drilling runs to mid-October. Market cap: roughly C$110.7 million.

Selkirk Copper Drills 15.11% CuEq Over 5.4 Metres at Minto North

Selkirk Copper Mines Inc. (TSXV: SCMI; OTCQX: SKRKF) reported on September 29 that hole 26SCM209 at Minto North returned 5.4 metres of 9.27% copper, 7.43 g/t gold and 54.9 g/t silver, or 15.11% CuEq. It was a 35-metre step-out. The company ranks the grade in the 99th percentile of more than 4,300 significant intercepts in Minto’s historical database.

Minto is a past-producing mine Selkirk plans to restart. Most of this program is infill drilling, tightening hole spacing inside the existing June 2026 resource to raise confidence ahead of a planned feasibility study. Not every hole delivered. Four of nine Copper Keel holes returned no significant intercept, and two Minto Main holes came in below expected grade.

The pace stands out. Selkirk drilled 98,467 metres in its first year, roughly a C$45 million spend, and Phase 2 has reached 52,485 metres with drilling set to run to mid-October. True widths are estimated at 80-90% of core length. CuEq uses US$4.60/lb copper, US$3,300/oz gold and US$40/oz silver with historical recoveries. The Selkirk First Nation indirectly holds a controlling stake. Market cap sits near C$201 million.

Canagold Returns 30.46% Antimony and 49.10 g/t Gold at New Polaris

Canagold Resources Ltd. (TSX: CCM; OTCQB: CRCUF) reported on October 1 that hole NP26-01 at its New Polaris gold project returned 13.20 metres of 3.83% antimony and 19.38 g/t gold, including that 1.21-metre interval at 30.46% antimony and 49.10 g/t gold. NP26-02 added 6.06 metres at 3.90% antimony and 14.97 g/t gold.

CEO Catalin Kilofliski said these are the highest antimony grades over the widest intervals the project has produced, and that antimony could become a meaningful contributor to New Polaris economics. That second part is the CEO’s view.

Intercepts are core lengths. Canagold says there isn’t enough drilling yet to know vein orientation, so true widths are unknown. New Polaris has an existing resource dating to 2023, and this was infill and expansion drilling. The release covers five of 14 holes. Canagold closed a $7.1 million financing on September 18, less than two weeks before these results. Market cap: about C$162 million.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Cascadia’s Zone 2000S extension count toward the Carmacks resource yet?

No. The new intercepts sit outside the current Measured and Indicated resource, and the October 1 release gives no timeline for an updated estimate.

Why is Selkirk Copper mostly infill drilling at a deposit that already has a resource?

To convert Indicated and Inferred tonnes into higher-confidence categories for a planned feasibility study. Selkirk says assays will keep coming through fall and winter 2026, with roughly eight-week lab turnaround.

How much of Canagold’s 14-hole New Polaris program has been reported?

The October 1 release covers five holes from a completed 7,277-metre program. Canagold did not give a date for the remaining results.

Are Cascadia and Selkirk drilling the same deposit?

No. Carmacks and Minto are separate deposits in the Minto Copper Belt, with Carmacks sitting 35 kilometers southeast of the Minto mine.
