Suriname and Guyana sit on the same ancient bedrock, the Guiana Shield. Guyana has done a lot more with it. Miata Metals just drilled one of its best holes yet on the Suriname side. The same Thursday in British Columbia brought a 301.88 g/t gold assay from inside a producing mine and a deep copper-gold step-out at Kwanika.
Miata Metals Hits 37.62 g/t Gold Inside 13.59 Metres at Jons Trend
Miata Metals Corp. (TSXV: MMET; OTCQX: MMETF) reported on October 29 that hole 26DDH-JT-026 returned 13.59 metres grading 10.33 g/t gold, including 3.56 metres at 37.62 g/t, at the Jons Trend of its Sela Creek Gold Project. The company called it one of its highest-grade intervals to date. Estimated true widths came with the numbers: 10.41 metres for the main interval, 2.73 metres for the high-grade core.
The same hole cut a second zone of 21.0 metres at 1.01 g/t gold from 207 metres. Three step-outs to the west and northwest came back narrow, and Miata reads them as the edge of the system in that direction. Drilling now follows the zone down-plunge, where the company says it remains open.
No resource estimate exists at Sela Creek yet. This is discovery-stage work inside an ongoing 25,000-metre program. Miata holds a 70% interest in the project with an option to increase it, and Guiana Shield investor La Mancha Resource Capital took a 19.9% stake in the company in August.
Talisker Hits 301.88 g/t Gold in Bralorne West Infill Drilling
Talisker Resources Ltd. (TSX: TSK; OTCQX: TSKFF) released results on October 29 from 17 more resource conversion holes in the Bralorne West zone, led by UB-2026-060 at 301.88 g/t gold over 0.55 metres within 79.23 g/t over 2.10 metres on the 276 Vein.
That headline grade covers 55 centimeters of core. The 2.10-metre composite is the more useful figure, and Talisker puts true thickness at 50% to 95% of reported lengths.
Talisker is already producing at the Mustang Mine. This drilling infills veins inside a model that already exists: Bralorne’s 2026 resource, effective December 31, 2025, carries 21,900 ounces Measured at 10.04 g/t and 101,700 ounces Indicated at 9.49 g/t at Mustang. Drilling at Mustang this year totals 25,442 metres in 92 holes.
The company has also agreed to buy Midex Resources for 3,000,000 shares. Closing needs Midex shareholder and regulatory approval and is expected in late Q4 2026. Production figures for the historic Berens River Mine on Midex’s ground have not been verified by a Qualified Person.
NorthWest Copper Extends Kwanika’s Western Zone With 73.9 Metres at 1.39% CuEq
NorthWest Copper Corp. (TSXV: NWST; OTCQX: NWCCF) reported on October 29 that hole K-26-260 cut 73.9 metres of 0.51% copper and 0.79 g/t gold, or 1.39% copper equivalent, from 457 metres in the Western Zone at Kwanika in north-central British Columbia. That includes 25.9 metres at 2.19% CuEq. Estimated true width on the main interval is 49.4 metres.
The copper equivalent uses gold at $3,100 per ounce and copper at $4.50 per pound, with recoveries of 96% for gold and 90% for copper. Palladium gets zero recovery, so a newly identified palladium-enriched zone adds nothing to the figure. Gold traded above $3,800 through the last week of October.
Kwanika already has a resource. An updated estimate for the Kwanika Central deposit, announced in March, puts Indicated resources at 16.22 million tonnes grading 1.27% CuEq. Assays are back for 17 of the 2026 program’s 43 holes. The other 26, from the North Pit Extension Zone, are pending.
Frequently Asked Questions
They mark the western and northwestern boundary, according to the company. Miata is now drilling down-plunge and at depth along the central axis, where it says mineralization remains open.
It is a 0.55-metre interval. The wider 2.10-metre composite grades 79.23 g/t, and Talisker estimates true thickness at 50% to 95% of reported lengths.
Late Q4 2026 is the target, subject to Midex shareholder and regulatory approvals. Voting support agreements cover 29% of Midex shares.
Yes. The calculation uses $3,100 gold and gives palladium no credit, so higher gold prices or a palladium recovery assumption would lift the equivalent grade. Results from 26 more Kwanika holes are still pending.
