Sixty-five centimeters of rock carried roughly three quarters of the gold in a 60-metre drill intercept on Friday. The company’s stock still rose 69.2%. In New Brunswick, a copper intercept got richer toward its base, and in Chile a CSE junior put a billion pounds of copper on paper for the first time.
Nine Mile Metals Cuts 5.09% CuEq Over 14.15 Metres of True Width at Wedge
Nine Mile Metals Ltd. (CSE: NINE; OTCID: VMSXF) reported on September 24 that hole WD-26-14 at the Wedge Mine in New Brunswick’s Bathurst Mining Camp intersected 5.09% copper equivalent over 14.15 metres, including 6.35% over 9.00 metres and 7.45% over 6.00 metres. The interval is reported as true width. The company drills perpendicular to steeply dipping volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) lenses, so it is measuring thickness, not depth.
Five metals share the interval: 2.10% copper, 4.85% zinc, 0.96% lead, 42.31 g/t silver and 0.84 g/t gold. The six richest samples sit in the bottom six metres, peaking at 8.59% CuEq.
The CuEq assumes a flat 95% recovery for all five metals. No testwork backs that yet. No resource either. Next: eight borehole electromagnetic (BHEM) surveys to aim a second round of drilling. Market cap is near C$23 million, and the US line trades on OTCID, so check broker availability.
Ashley Gold Cuts 3.333 g/t Gold Over 60 Metres at Tak, Ontario
Ashley Gold ran here in May and June, when its first Tak holes were still checking 1999-era drilling. This hole stepped outside the old zones. Ashley Gold Corp. (CSE: ASHL) reported on September 25 that TAK-26-16 cut 3.333 g/t gold over 60.00 metres from 24.00 metres downhole, including 229 g/t over 0.65 metres, with visible gold logged near 63.5 metres. Shares rose 69.2% to C$0.11 that day on volume about 36 times the daily average.
That single sample holds about 74% of the interval’s gold, by aktiego.com’s math from the company’s assay table. Without it, the other 59.35 metres average roughly 0.86 g/t. Capped at 40 g/t, as the company also showed, the same math gives about 1.29 g/t.
It isn’t a one-sample hole, though. It also hit 16.7 g/t over 0.85 metres and 7.75 g/t over 1.00 metre. True thickness is unknown and there is no resource. Royal Gold holds a 5% royalty on the Tak ground. Four Phase III holes are pending. Before Friday, market cap was roughly C$5.6 million. CSE only, no US OTC line.
ATERRA Metals Puts a Maiden 159.8 Mt Copper-Gold Resource on Totora, Chile
ATERRA Metals Inc. (CSE: ATC; OTCQB: CSSCF) reported a maiden Inferred Mineral Resource on September 24 of 159.8 million tonnes at 0.30% copper and 0.15 g/t gold, or 0.51% CuEq, at a 0.20% copper cut-off. That is 1,067.3 million pounds of copper and 792.9 thousand ounces of gold. Frontera holds about half, at 0.34% copper and 0.19 g/t gold.
All of it is Inferred, the lowest-confidence resource category, and much of it rests on historical holes. At Frontera, SRK had no assay certificates or QA/QC data for that older drilling. No metallurgy yet; the 85% recoveries are assumed. ATERRA holds the ground under option agreements that require future payments. Market cap is about C$23 million.
Algo Grande Copper Finds a Second Zone in Hole AG-CG-PH2-002
Last week we covered the top of this hole. Now the bottom is in. Algo Grande Copper Corp. (TSXV: ALGR; OTCID: ALGRF) released full assays on September 23 showing a second zone of 38.20 metres at 1.0% CuEq from 243.80 metres, including 11.50 metres at 2.0% CuEq. Add the 30.23-metre upper zone and the hole carries 68.43 metres of combined mineralization averaging 1.2% CuEq.
The 67 metres between the zones came back weaker. The company blames the hole drifting off the higher-grade horizon. CuEq assumes 80% recovery, which is not established yet. Intervals are downhole lengths. Still no resource. Algo Grande also hired German Mining Networks for European investor relations at $6,800 a month, on top of the European marketing campaign it disclosed earlier.
Frequently Asked Questions
Eight surveys on perimeter holes will guide a second round of drilling aimed at the depth and lateral extent of the lenses. The company says results are processed on site within 24 hours.
About 0.86 g/t over the remaining 59.35 metres, by aktiego.com’s calculation from the company’s assay table. Four pending Phase III holes will show whether the high grade repeats nearby.
Within 45 days of the September 24 release, on SEDAR+. Phase II drilling is planned to test extensions at Frontera and Totora and collect the project’s first metallurgical samples
Not necessarily. Downhole surveys show the hole drifting away from the higher-grade horizon over that stretch, and it still hit short intervals such as 0.85 metres at 2.7% CuEq. The company’s interpretation remains untested until more holes land.
Only ATERRA, and all of it is Inferred. Nine Mile, Ashley Gold and Algo Grande have none.
