A 30-Year-Old Copper Target Finally Gets Drilled, Plus a Lithium Explorer’s Exit Into Gold

A 30-Year-Old Copper Target Finally Gets Drilled, Plus a Lithium Explorer's Exit Into Gold

A copper target in British Columbia hadn’t seen a meaningful drill in three decades until this week. A lithium exploration company decided it no longer wants to be a lithium exploration company, and is buying a gold royalty instead. A healthcare marketplace signed a partnership with no agreed revenue split yet, then got approved to trade in the US the very next day.

Getty Copper Drills 68.5 Meters of 0.81% Copper in the First Real Test of Getty South in 30 Years

Getty Copper (TSXV: GTC, OTCQX: GTCDF) reported its first assay results from the Getty South target at its Getty project in BC’s Highland Valley district, announced September 2. Hole GS26-02 returned 68.5 meters grading 0.81% copper from 39.5 meters depth, including a higher-grade 13.8 meter section at 1.83% copper, while hole GS26-01 returned 184 meters at 0.37% copper from 110 meters, including a 10 meter interval at 1.90% copper. These are the first significant drill holes at Getty South in roughly 30 years.

Mineralization extended 72 meters below historical intercepts and remains open within a broader induced polarization geophysical anomaly the company hasn’t fully tested yet. Assays are still pending for 11 more holes at Getty South and 3 at Getty North. Getty controls roughly 25% of the Highland Valley district, one of Canada’s most productive copper districts, but the company has no current resource estimate on either target, and confirming a historical target with modern drilling is a different milestone than proving the copper is economic to mine.

Stria Lithium Exits Lithium Entirely, Becomes a Gold Royalty Company

Stria Lithium (TSXV: SRA) closed a $12 million private placement and completed a formal Change of Business transaction under TSX Venture Exchange rules on September 2, using the proceeds to acquire a net smelter return royalty of up to 2% on Sinclair Gold’s Mt Henry Gold Project in Western Australia. The company is renaming itself Arc Mineral Royalties Ltd. and will trade under a new ticker, ARO, once the exchange finalizes the listing change.

This is a full identity change, not an add-on business line: Stria’s lithium exploration assets in Quebec’s Chambois Greenstone Belt are still on the books, but the company’s future is now built around gold royalty income rather than lithium exploration spending. Royalties generate cash without the operating costs of running a mine, but Arc won’t see a dollar of royalty revenue until Sinclair actually produces gold at Mt Henry, and Sinclair has not yet published a resource estimate that would trigger Arc’s option on the second 1% royalty tranche.

Tech & Innovation

Apptly Health Technologies Lists a Koning Partnership, Then Gets Approved to Trade on the OTCQB

Apptly Health Technologies (CSE: APPT, OTCQB: ESVNF), operator of the UberDoc direct-pay healthcare marketplace, announced a partnership September 1 with Koning Corporation, maker of the FDA-approved Koning Vera Breast CT, to list Koning’s breast imaging providers on UberDoc’s marketplace at transparent, upfront pricing. The next day, September 2, the company’s shares were approved for OTCQB trading in the US under the symbol ESVNF and confirmed eligible for electronic clearing through the Depository Trust Company, while continuing to trade on the CSE under APPT.

The Koning deal is an access agreement, not a signed revenue contract: the companies have only an intent to establish revenue sharing, the methodology and terms are not yet agreed, and Apptly has not attributed any revenue to the partnership. The OTCQB approval and DTC eligibility are a separate, more concrete development; together they’re meant to widen the pool of US investors who can hold the stock, though broader access doesn’t guarantee more buyers show up.

Biotech & Life Sciences: What Moved the Sector This Week

The FDA calendar stayed active among larger names, following a run of approvals in late August that included Abbott’s Libre Duo continuous ketone and glucose monitor, Ultragenyx’s Genglycos for glycogen storage disease, and a robotic phlebotomy device called Aletta. Looking ahead, two dated PDUFA decisions land within the next 30 days: Telix’s Pixclara on September 11 and Ultragenyx’s UX111 on September 19, the latter a resubmission after an earlier rejection tied to manufacturing rather than clinical data.

Crypto & Fintech: What Moved the Sector This Week

Bitcoin fell toward $77,000 on September 2 as renewed Iran-related geopolitical tension pushed oil prices and bond yields higher, before rebounding to roughly $79,700 by September 4 on a short-covering squeeze after a wave of leveraged long liquidations earlier in the week. Spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in a record $3.52 billion in August, their best month of 2026, but roughly 80% of those inflows arrived in the two weeks after the US Treasury’s August 19 bond buyback announcement, and outflows resumed September 1 with the largest single-day withdrawal since July.

None of that activity was concentrated in small or micro-cap crypto or fintech equities on the TSX or CSE this week; the price swings played out entirely at the token and large-cap ETF level.

What to Watch Next

What’s next for Getty Copper after this week’s Getty South results?

Assays are still pending for 11 more holes at Getty South and 3 at Getty North. Those results, plus an eventual updated geological model, will determine whether Getty South supports a modern resource estimate.

When will Arc Mineral Royalties (formerly Stria Lithium) see its first royalty revenue?

Not until Sinclair Gold brings the Mt Henry project into production, which has no announced date yet. The company’s option on a second 1% royalty tranche also depends on Sinclair publishing a JORC-compliant resource of 2 million ounces at Mt Henry.

Will Apptly and Koning agree on revenue-sharing terms?

No terms or methodology have been agreed yet, and the company has said there is no assurance an arrangement will be concluded. Watch for a follow-up announcement with actual revenue-sharing details before treating this as a revenue-generating deal.

What biotech catalysts are coming up for small and micro-cap investors to watch?

Telix’s Pixclara has a PDUFA decision September 11 and Ultragenyx’s UX111 follows September 19, though both are larger-cap names. No small-cap Canadian biotech catalysts are currently on this publication’s radar for the coming weeks.

Will Bitcoin hold above $77,000, or continue lower?

Support has been cited near $77,000 with resistance in the $80,000 to $81,000 range. Rising bond yields and oil prices tied to geopolitical tension remain the main headwind cited by analysts heading into the September Fed meeting.

Tickers discussed as company subjects in this article: GTC / GTCDF (Getty Copper), SRA (Stria Lithium, renaming to Arc Mineral Royalties under ticker ARO), and APPT / ESVNF (Apptly Health Technologies). aktiego.com has received no compensation from any company, IR firm, or third party in connection with this coverage, and no aktiego.com staff member holds a position in any security named above. Press release dates and primary sources were verified against company IR pages, GlobeNewswire, Newsfile Corp, and SEDAR+ where applicable. All companies named as subjects are under $500 million USD in market capitalization as of the dates referenced above. Getty Copper has no current mineral resource estimate on either Getty South or Getty North; this week’s results confirm and extend historical drill targets rather than establish a resource. Stria Lithium’s royalty acquisition on the Mt Henry Gold Project will not generate revenue until the underlying project reaches production, and the company’s option on a second royalty tranche is contingent on Sinclair Gold publishing a specified resource threshold that has not yet been met; the private placement and share issuance are dilutive to existing shareholders. Apptly Health Technologies has not agreed revenue-sharing terms or methodology with Koning Corporation and has attributed no revenue to that partnership as of this writing.
