Guardian Metal Finds Tungsten Zone as Outcrop Silver Hits Record Grades

Tungsten had a week. Guardian Metal found a new zone at its Nevada project during what was supposed to be routine condemnation drilling. Outcrop Silver hit 2,820 g/t silver equivalent over 23 centimeters in Colombia. Norsemont drilled 20 meters of gold at the bottom of a hole in Chile, which means the system keeps going. And SAGA Metals returned vanadium grades in Labrador that matter for anyone watching the grid-scale battery storage space.

Four companies. Four different metals. All of them worth knowing about.

Guardian Metal went looking for a place to put infrastructure and found tungsten instead.

The backstory makes this discovery unusual. Guardian Metal Resources (NYSE.A: GMTL / OTCQB: GMTLF) is advancing its Pilot Mountain Tungsten Project in Nevada through a pre-feasibility study (PFS — a formal technical and economic analysis used to determine if a project is viable enough to move toward a construction decision). As part of that process, the team needed to test a specific area as a potential location for mine infrastructure — roads, processing facilities, water management. That kind of drilling is called condemnation drilling. You are hoping to find nothing interesting so you can build on the land.

They found tungsten. The first hole, PMR26-077, returned 13.68 meters at 0.31% WO3 from shallow depth. Subsequent holes drilled with additional rigs visually confirmed the presence of tungsten-bearing skarn across the area. The zone has been named the Tremor Zone. Assays from the follow-up holes are still pending.

Pilot Mountain is one of the largest undeveloped tungsten deposits in the United States. The context matters. Almonty Industries commissioned the Sangdong mine in South Korea earlier this year — the first major Western-aligned tungsten mine to come online in decades — and the stock ran over 3,000% in 15 months on the back of it. China controls roughly 80% of global tungsten supply and has been tightening export restrictions. US domestic tungsten production is essentially zero. Guardian Metal is trying to change that.

The stock fell 5.26% on the June 4 announcement. The market was not expecting a new zone discovery — it was expecting routine infrastructure news. Guardian Metal’s Plan of Operations submission for mine permitting is targeted for August 2026. Market cap approximately $625 to $650 million. Filings on SEC EDGAR.

Outcrop Silver hit 2,820 g/t silver equivalent in Colombia and the Aguilar vein keeps growing.

On June 3, Outcrop Silver & Gold (TSX: OCG / OTCQX: OCGSF) released assay results from the northern extension of the Aguilar vein at its Santa Ana project in Colombia. The highlight: 0.80 meters true width of 1,405 g/t AgEq, including 0.23 meters of 2,820 g/t AgEq. Those are extraordinary grades for any silver deposit.

The drilling also confirmed two additional mineralized structures — Aguilar NEW and Aguilar NEE — in the northern sector of the target. Locally mineralized splay structures were intersected too, adding to the geological picture of how the vein system is controlled. The company is running three drill rigs simultaneously along a fully permitted 17-kilometer mineralized trend and is working toward its first resource update.

Colombia carries real jurisdiction risk. The country has a long history of mining but also of regulatory uncertainty, political volatility, and community relations challenges. Readers doing their own research should look at Outcrop’s SEDAR+ filings for details on permitting status and any outstanding community agreements. Market cap approximately C$110 million. Norsemont drilled 20 meters of gold at the bottom of the hole at Choquelimpie.

On June 5, Norsemont Mining (CSE: NOM / OTCQX: NRRSF) released results from two additional Phase 3 holes at Choquelimpie in northern Chile. The key result: 20 meters of 1.20 g/t gold equivalent at the bottom of a drill hole. In exploration drilling, hitting mineralization at the bottom of a hole is significant because it means the system extends further at depth than the drill tested. It is an open system.

The Phase 3 program has now completed seven holes totaling approximately 1,650 meters. Norsemont’s technical team has identified three distinct styles of gold mineralization at Choquelimpie: mineralization hosted in hydrothermal breccia zones, in quartz-mica-sulfide alteration zones, and at the dacite-andesite porphyry contact. CEO Marc Levy said the recognition of those three styles is “an important step forward in our understanding of the Choquelimpie mineral system.” Phase 4 drilling, budgeted at up to 13,000 meters, is planned for the second half of 2026. SAGA Metals returned vanadium grades in Labrador that belong in the critical minerals conversation.

SAGA Metals Corp. (TSXV: SAGA / OTCQB: SAGMF) released assay results on June 4 from five holes at the Trapper South target within the Radar Critical Minerals Project in Labrador. Highlights include intervals of 51.20% FeO, 7.94% TiO2, and 0.340% V2O5.

Vanadium (a metal used in vanadium redox flow batteries, one of the leading technologies for grid-scale energy storage) is on both the US and Canadian critical minerals lists. China and Russia together control the majority of global production. The Radar project is an iron-titanium-vanadium system — less glamorous than gold or silver, but increasingly relevant as grid storage demand grows alongside AI data center power requirements. SAGA is a small company at an early stage. The Labrador jurisdiction is established and well-regarded. Filings on SEDAR+.

What to Watch

Guardian Metal Tremor Zone assays: follow-up hole results are pending. Any quantified grades from the additional Tremor Zone drilling will show whether this is a meaningful extension of the deposit or an isolated intercept. August is the targeted date for the Plan of Operations submission — a key permitting milestone.

Outcrop Silver resource update: the company is drilling toward its first 2026 mineral resource update. Any announcement of a resource estimate initiation or update timeline will set the next significant milestone for the Santa Ana project.

Norsemont Phase 4 program: 13,000 meters budgeted for H2 2026. A program announcement with specific hole targets and timing will follow from the Phase 3 results. Watch for any update on the porphyry potential at depth.

SAGA Metals Radar resource progression: the iron-titanium-vanadium grades are real. The next step is understanding the deposit scale. Any resource estimate initiation or updated exploration target would move this from assay story to resource story.
