The 17 patients in Kane Biotech’s newly published study had lived with their wounds for a median of 22 months, and every one of those wounds had already failed earlier care. After 12 weeks on the company’s revyve gel, average wound area was down by more than 40%. Kane booked $8,143 in revenue in its most recent quarter.
Kane Biotech Publishes revyve Wound Study in the International Wound Journal
Kane Biotech Inc. (TSXV: KNE) (OTC Pink: KNBIF) announced on November 4 that the International Wound Journal has published a clinical investigative study of its revyve Antimicrobial Wound Gel, used as an add-on to clinician-directed standard wound care. Dr. Iris Noland of the Colborne Clinic led the paper, working with co-authors affiliated with Kane. Adults with venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical-site complications and traumatic wounds were followed in an outpatient setting for up to 12 weeks.
Wound area fell 43.9% measured wound by wound and 42.7% measured patient by patient. The share of wounds showing epithelial tissue, the thin layer of new skin cells that eventually closes a wound, rose from 25.0% to 68.8%. Necrotic tissue, which is dead tissue, moved the other way, from 25.0% of wounds to 12.5%.
Pain scores dropped too. On a 10-point scale, the group mean went from 4.76 to 2.18, and the release describes the within-patient improvement as statistically significant. Wounds classified as low-exudate, meaning they produced little fluid, climbed from 41.2% to 64.7%.
revyve is already on the market. The gel, a spray version and a skin and wound cleanser are cleared by the FDA under the 510(k) pathway, which clears a medical device as substantially equivalent to one already sold rather than approving it through drug-style efficacy trials. Health Canada has licensed the gel and the spray.
What the revyve Case Series Can and Cannot Show
Every patient got revyve. No one got a comparison treatment. The study is a prospective observational case series, so it cannot separate the effect of the gel from the standard care it was added to, or from the closer attention patients tend to receive inside a study, and 17 patients with 28 wounds is a small base for any percentage.
The authors frame their results as support for larger, controlled studies, not as proof of benefit. A link between higher tissue oxygenation and greater wound shrinkage is labeled exploratory, and it draws only on patients with imaging data. Who paid for the study is not disclosed in the release.
Kane Biotech’s Q2 Revenue, Cash and a $250,000 Loan From Its Chair
The commercial numbers are far thinner than the clinical ones. For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Kane reported total revenue of $8,143, down from $27,997 a year earlier, against operating expenses of $785,927. The net loss widened to $833,636 from $348,541. Cash at quarter-end was $854,729, and no specific cash runway was identified in the sources reviewed. The same release mentioned additional financing completed after quarter-end without giving an amount or terms, and said Kane had begun a strategic review it did not describe further.
On October 16, board chair Philip Renaud, who is also an approved control person of the company, lent Kane $250,000. The loan is unsecured, carries no interest, is repayable on demand and came with no bonus. Kane told investors it plans to repay it from future capital raises or revenue.
Going-concern risk is on the record. The auditor’s report on Kane’s 2025 annual financial statements cites a material uncertainty related to going concern, which means significant doubt exists about the company’s ability to keep operating without new funding. The release announcing the study also lists a lack of significant revenue to date among its risk factors.
Kane Adds The Stevens Company as a Canadian revyve Distributor
About two weeks before the publication, Kane signed a non-exclusive distribution agreement with The Stevens Company Limited, effective October 1, under which Stevens can buy and resell revyve gel and spray across Canada to hospitals, long-term care homes and community providers. Neither minimum purchases nor a term length was disclosed, and the release gives no revenue figure. It follows a September agreement with Ontario Medical Supply Inc.
A day after the Stevens deal, Kane disclosed that it had hired Independent Trading Group as a market maker, a dealer that posts continuous buy and sell quotes in a thinly traded stock. ITG is paid $5,000 a month, receives no shares or options, and the engagement is subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.

Kane Biotech’s Next Milestones: Q3 Filing, Advisory Board and a 2027 DispersinB Trial
Kane’s interim financial statements for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 fall due by November 29, 2026, under the 60-day filing deadline for TSX Venture issuers. Its new Scientific Advisory Board is scheduled to hold a first meeting in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Kane is targeting 2027 for the start of a safety clinical trial of DispersinB Hydrogel, an earlier-stage program than revyve. Biocompatibility testing for that program was planned for the third quarter of 2026; the company has not reported whether it began.

The International Wound Journal study is a prospective observational case series of 17 patients with 28 wounds, with no control or comparison group; it was not randomized, and several co-authors are affiliated with Kane. Its results cannot establish that revyve caused the improvements reported. The tissue-oxygenation finding is labeled exploratory by the authors and covers only patients with imaging data, and the source of study funding was not disclosed in the release. The statistical significance of the pain improvement is as characterized in the company’s release. FDA 510(k) clearance means the FDA found the device substantially equivalent to a legally marketed device; it is not a drug approval and does not establish clinical superiority.
Kane reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $8,143 against a net loss of $833,636 and cash of $854,729 at June 30, 2026, and no specific cash runway was identified in the sources reviewed. The auditor’s report on its 2025 annual financial statements includes a material uncertainty related to going concern. Financing completed after June 30 was not quantified in the company’s release, and any future equity raise would likely dilute existing shareholders.
The $250,000 loan announced October 16, 2026 comes from board chair and control person Philip Renaud. It is unsecured, non-interest-bearing and repayable on demand, and Kane relied on related-party exemptions from formal valuation and minority shareholder approval. It is disclosed here as a fact, without characterization as either a positive or negative signal.
The Stevens Company agreement is non-exclusive and discloses no minimum purchase commitments, term, or revenue figure; any revenue from it is contingent on future orders and is not contracted. The market-making engagement with Independent Trading Group is subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval. The strategic review Kane referenced in August 2026 has not been described further, and there is no assurance of any outcome. The DispersinB Hydrogel safety trial target of 2027 and the fourth-quarter 2026 Scientific Advisory Board meeting are company-stated plans, not guarantees.
