Gold Drilling Ramps Up in Quebec After Promising Discovery

Opus One Gold Mobilises Drill Rigs at Noyell Project in Quebec

Opus One Gold Corp (TSX-V: OOR) has mobilised two diamond drill rigs to its wholly owned Noyell Gold Project in Quebec’s Abitibi mining district, near the town of Matagami. The company has restarted drilling following encouraging results from its 2025 exploration campaign.

Management said a third drill rig may be added in February if required to complete the planned work program.

Follow-Up to 2025 Zone 1 Discovery

The new drilling campaign is designed to build on the success of Opus One’s 2025 program, which led to the Zone 1 gold discovery. That program was described by the company as highly successful and provided the geological confidence needed to expand exploration activities this year.

The current diamond drilling program will include approximately 26 holes for a total of about 14,000 metres of core. Drilling will focus on infill targets and step-out extensions of Zone 1 in multiple directions.

New Western Target Area to Be Tested

In addition to work around Zone 1, Opus One plans to test a new target area in the western part of the property. Historical drill records from the 1980s and 1990s reported notable gold mineralisation in this area, but it has not previously been drilled by the company.

The western target is located roughly three kilometres west of Zone 1 and aligns with the eastern extension of gold mineralisation currently being defined on the adjacent N2 Project. That property is operated by Formation Metals, formerly Wallbridge, and already hosts a significant historical gold resource.

Opus One believes the gold mineralisation identified on its western claims may be part of the same geological structure that hosts Zone 1. Five shallow drill holes are planned to test this interpretation, marking the company’s first drilling in this portion of the project.

Management Commentary

Chief Executive Officer Louis Morin said the company is encouraged by the scope of the upcoming program.

He noted that during 2025, Opus One completed 9,000 metres of drilling at Zone 1, carried out a biogeochemical sampling survey, and conducted a laser-induced breakdown spectrometry study on mineralised core. These efforts helped define the gold-bearing horizon and its host units.

According to Morin, the company is now focused on expanding the main mineralised zone, advancing mineralogical understanding, and developing new high-quality gold targets across the property. He added that 2026 is shaping up to be another active and promising year for Opus One Gold.
