BorgWarner Secures Exclusive Supply Role for TurboCell in Edged Infrastructure

BorgWarner Inc. has signed a Master Supply Agreement with TurboCell, a subsidiary of Endeavour, to deliver a highly modular turbine generator system. The solution is designed to meet the growing demand for high-power alternatives in artificial intelligence-driven data centers and microgrid applications, with deployment expected at gigawatt scale.

Product Innovation and Capabilities

The turbine generator system offers adaptability for diverse applications, including backup and prime power. It features advanced controls and dynamic response to manage power transients and grid peaks. The system is expected to meet future CARB emission standards and support multiple fuel types, including natural gas, propane, diesel, and hydrogen. BorgWarner will leverage its turbocharging, thermal management, power electronics, advanced software controls, and high-speed rotating electric capabilities to maximize vertical integration, controlling approximately 65% of system content.

Leadership Perspective

Joseph Fadool, President and CEO of BorgWarner, emphasized that the innovation represents proactive growth strategy, addressing power quality and energy needs of hyperscalers, colocators, and microgrid operators. He noted the system’s advantages over conventional solutions, including superior transient response, fuel flexibility, and lower emissions. Jakob Carnemark, CEO of Endeavour, highlighted the partnership’s role in accelerating AI infrastructure development through dynamic, demand-responsive power.

Market Expansion Plans

Production is expected to begin in Hendersonville, North Carolina in 2027, with an initial 2 GW of installed capacity. TurboCell will be available exclusively through Endeavour’s Edged Infrastructure division, supporting rapid deployment of AI campuses and advanced microgrid systems.

Investment Perspective

For investors, BorgWarner’s entry into the data center power market represents a strategic diversification beyond automotive. The agreement positions the company to capture growth from AI-driven infrastructure demand, while leveraging its manufacturing scale and technical expertise. With global data center expansion accelerating, BorgWarner’s turbine generator system offers a pathway to long-term revenue growth and market leadership in clean, flexible power solutions.

Conclusion

BorgWarner’s partnership with TurboCell marks a significant step into the data center and microgrid markets. By combining advanced technology with scalable production, the company is positioned to deliver transformative power solutions that align with the future of AI and sustainable energy.
