Founders Metals Drills One of Its Strongest Holes Yet at Antino

Wheaton Precious Metals, IAMGOLD, Torex, and Artemis Gold all reported record quarterly production, cash flow, or earnings this week, the kind of results that come from years of infrastructure and ounces already in the ground. A tiny explorer in Suriname does not have any of that yet. What it does have, as of this week, is a single drill hole that returned a grade most of those majors would be thrilled to report from an entire mine.

Founders Metals Drills 28.0 Metres of 14.27 g/t Gold at Upper Antino, Suriname

Founders Metals Inc. (TSXV: FDR; OTCQX: FDMIF; FSE: 9DL0) announced on August 6 that drill hole FR249 at the Upper Antino target of its Antino Gold Project in southeastern Suriname intersected 28.0 metres grading 14.27 g/t gold from 433 metres depth, a 50-metre down-dip extension of a previously reported hole that had returned 10.0 metres at 5.90 g/t gold. The hole cut four stacked, sub-parallel shear zones between 285 and 461 metres downhole, with shallower zones above the main intercept grading 18.0 metres at 1.04 g/t gold and 24.0 metres at 0.36 g/t gold.

Company management called it one of the strongest holes drilled at Antino to date, grade the company says it had previously only seen inside the high-grade Froyo core, now confirmed well outside it. Earlier deep drilling had traced mineralization to roughly 500 metres vertical depth; this hole extends that pattern and suggests the deeper horizons can carry meaningfully higher grades than what has been drilled near surface. Antino has attracted a US$50 million strategic investment from Gold Fields, and Founders’ market capitalization has grown to roughly CA$525 million, brushing up against this publication’s small-cap cutoff even if it remains a pre-production explorer with no revenue.

Silver Storm Mining Hits 215 g/t Silver Equivalent at Rosarios, Mexico

Silver Storm Mining Ltd. (TSXV: SVRS; OTCQX: SVRSF; FSE: SVR) reported on August 6 drill results from the Rosarios Zone at its La Parrilla Silver Mine Complex in Durango, Mexico, with hole IDP-RO-26-004 returning 215 g/t silver equivalent over 11.9 metres and hole IDP-RO-26-007 returning 200 g/t silver equivalent over 15.35 metres. The company discloses its silver equivalent assumptions: US$30/oz silver, US$2,500/oz gold, US$0.95/lb lead, and US$1.25/lb zinc, with recoveries ranging from roughly 58% to 83% depending on the metal and whether the ore is oxide or sulphide.

Rosarios sits within La Parrilla’s existing resource base rather than being a new discovery, and the company says these infill results point toward extending the Indicated resource by up to 100 metres toward surface along a 125-metre strike length. La Parrilla only shipped its first concentrate in late July after a restart, so this is resource-expansion drilling at a mine just coming back into production, not grassroots exploration.

Thistle Resources Reports 14.40% Antimony From Trenching at Brunswick, New Brunswick

Thistle Resources Inc. (TSXV: TRCG; OTCQB: TRCGF; FSE: BU9) announced on August 6 certified assay results of up to 14.40% antimony and 7.59 ounces per tonne silver from trench sampling at its Brunswick Antimony Project in New Brunswick’s Bathurst Mining Camp. One sample returned 14.4% antimony alongside 1.99 oz/t silver; a separate sample returned 7.59 oz/t silver alongside 4.24% antimony. These are trench and channel samples, not drill assays, and the project has never been drilled.

The company says the antimony-silver association at Brunswick distinguishes it from other North American antimony systems, and the results are being used to guide future drill targeting rather than to define a resource. Brunswick sits adjacent to the past-producing Brunswick No. 12 mine, and antimony has drawn renewed attention across New Brunswick this year as prices climb and Western buyers look to reduce reliance on Chinese supply, the same theme behind Perpetua Resources’ new gold-antimony-tungsten discoveries at Stibnite, Idaho, reported the same week. Thistle’s market capitalization sits near CA$11 million, among the smallest names this publication covers, carrying volatility to match.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s next for Founders Metals at Upper Antino?

Drilling continues testing the down-dip continuation of the stacked shear zones at Upper Antino. The company has not given a specific date for further results, but this hole’s depth suggests future assays will keep probing whether the higher grades seen at 433 metres persist at depth.

When will Silver Storm’s next resource update come?

No date has been given, but the company says the Rosarios infill results support extending the Indicated resource at La Parrilla, and a 15,000-metre drilling program is ongoing to keep growing the resource footprint as production ramps up.

What is Thistle Resources planning next at Brunswick?

Bedrock trench mapping and channel sampling are continuing to define the mineralized granite-sediment contact, with the stated goal of guiding the project’s first-ever drill program.

Do any of these three companies have a resource estimate yet?

Silver Storm’s Rosarios Zone sits within La Parrilla’s existing resource base, which this drilling aims to expand. Founders Metals has not published a resource estimate specific to the Upper Antino target drilled this week. Thistle Resources’ Brunswick project has never been drilled and has no resource estimate of any kind.
