AES Named Top U.S. Corporate Clean Energy Seller by BloombergNEF

The AES Corporation (NYSE:AES) has been recognized by BloombergNEF (BNEF) as the top seller of clean energy to corporations in the United States and the Americas in 2025. This marks the fifth consecutive year AES has led the rankings, which track corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signings.

Recognition and Demand

BNEF’s ranking highlights AES’ role as a major energy provider to technology companies globally, with Google named as its top corporate buyer in 2025. President and CEO Andrés Gluski said demand for clean energy is surging, driven by AI data center development and advanced manufacturing.

Corporate Partnerships

AES reports that PPAs with corporate customers now represent nearly two‑thirds of its backlog, and approximately 85% of long‑term renewable contracts signed in 2025 were with corporate customers, excluding energy storage. The company emphasized its ability to deliver clean energy solutions reliably and at speed.
